Hi I'd love to get some advice from anybody who has experience or information on moving on from a sub-prime mortgage. We moved to GE 9 (now Pepper Mortgages) a number of years ago and at this stage we are very keen to get out of it. Our credit rating is still not great but the Pepper mortgage is costing us a fortune and we would love to get away from them if it's at all possible. Is it doable? Any advice as to how we could go about it?

gumball,

credit rating is (still not great) ?

If it is a case that you missed payments within the past two years , no other lender will look @ you.
If it is a case that you have circa 4 clear years + steady employment + ability to repay +equity in the house , other lenders will listen.

You need to get your credit rating in perfect order. Your spending and savings will have to be in good shape too. It will take you a few years to get into that situation though.
