Hello,

I've started a new job and have to choose a configuration of Irish Life Investment Managers funds for my pension.

The available funds are
* Secured Performance Fund (Low risk)
* Consensus Managed Fund (Medium risk)
* Indexed Global Equity Fund (High risk)
* Indexed Long Bond Fund
* Cash Fund

I'm 28 so am will to take some of the higher risk options for the moment. Can anyone who know about the funds comment on this allocation...
30% in Secured Performance Fund (Low risk)
40% in Consensus Managed Fund (Medium risk)
30% in Indexed Global Equity Fund (High risk)

I have an existing pension with about €15,000 in it that I haven't been monitoring too well. Is it worth transferring it into my new pension or leave it where it is?

Thanks.

With at least 30 years to go to retirement and with equities being the best performing asset sector over any 20/30 year rolling period, you should have a strong equity bias in your investment portfolio at this stage. I would bump more into the Global Equity fund although equities are looking a little toppy around the world right now so maybe go with a more conservative short term mix with a view to increasing equity exposure if the markets suffer a setback in coming months.
