Hi all,

I am wondering if ye could help me out regarding an investment/savings account.

I currently have a sum of money invested with the ICS but the interest rate on it is very poor, 0.23% for 3 months.

So am I looking for other possibilities. I am looking to invest 15,000 euro over a period time. I would like the money be available on notice if possible. I was looking at the Permanent TSB with the [broken link removed].

Could anyone suggest any other possible investments? I would appreciate it.

Seconded.

0.23% is an awful return with ICS. 4.00% with PTSB for 100 days only is not the best solution for most savers.

4.25% with an Anglo Irish Instant Access account is the best rate for your needs.

See http://www.askaboutmoney.com/showthread.php?t=102329

Best demand rate up to €100,000, Internet access not required.
Anglo Irish Bank: Premium Demand (Discuss)
4.25% (from 29 Sep 2008) (>= ECB+0.5% until 1 Jan 2010) on €1 minimum to €100,000
3.80% (>= ECB unti 1 Jan 2010) on €100,001 to €1m maximum (rate applies to whole balance, not excess)
Interest paid annually.

Thanks for both replies.

With all the bad press Anglo Irish recently, should I be nervous or reluctant opening an account with Anglo?

Anglo are now owned by the Irish people with guarantees equivalent to An Post! (no comments please on the rights and wrongs of this)

However if you still have reservations try the Ulster Bank for 1 year rates!
