I bought a bath from a company and foolishly didnt realise it was too big for my bathroom. I didnt know my own bath was a smaller one. I asked if I could change it for a smaller one and I was told I could but it would be 400 euro dearer. Then I asked if I could have a refund on the bath as I wasnt aware nor was I made aware that there are different length baths. I was told I can have a refund but I will loose 30% of my money. Can they do this. Im going out to them today to try and sort it so quick advice would be very welcome.

Re: Need help qick

Yes they pretty much can do this. They will argue a restocking cost loss of inventory and hass delivery all that. They will have incurred some costs in handling your sale. Such as labour and storage. There isnt much of a margin on this stuff so The fact that they are even entertaining the idea is reasonable. Its not up to them to educate the buyer about sizes most people will have mesured up first. As long as the origional goods were of salable quality, and you choose them, they have no further obligation to you.

Sorry if this sounds harsh but 1 minute spent mesuring would have prevented this problem.

Be good.

Thanks. What i needd to know. I do know it was my own fault but I assumed my bath was an ordinary bath and didnt realise it was small.

The other option to reduce your loss position is to flog the bath on gumtree or ebay or buy n sell. you might get full whack for it. If you have the time to do this. I did this once with a sort of similar thing and got more then I needed.
