Advice needed on process/timeline when trading up/moving

Apologies if this has already been covered, but I couldn't find it when I searched.

I'm hoping to trade up over the next year and would appreciate advise on what I should do re selling current pdh.

Basically,
Do I sell first and then start looking?
Or put current home on the market and start the process to find new home?

Any advise greatly appreciated,

I would put house up for sale as it will take time to find a buyer and meantime look around for a new house. Market is very slow so take your time and you don't have to agree to sell until you have found a new home.

Or if your cash rich then you could sell and rent for a while and be able to move much quicker when you find something as you would be a cash buyer and in the driving seat.
