I am at present in a lot of hassle with banks and old creditiors, due to a lost company last year. My question is this, I have a judgement mortgage against my property for 35,000 and an uncle of mine passed away last December and left my brother and me 20,000 each, can the solicitor keep this money to put towards the judgement, as this is what he claims?

Thanks in advance.

There is a legal procedure called Garnishee where monies to go to a Judgment debtor, as here by way of inheritance, can be attached by Court Order and acquired to pay down a judgment debt.

They must get the order first. Unless they have the order already the solicitor is wrong.

thanks for the help so far,i think i need to have a word with a good solicitor,as there is no order or garnishee
