Advice for bedroom colours

Hello all,
I am in the mists of painting a bedroom. It is a medium to large room with 2 windows. The shape of the room is rectangler. I wanted to spice the room up a bit as i had it all painted natural barley.
I painted the end wall where the headboard is a rich dark red and am wondering what best would go with it ?.
The paint is called Dulux Shamira.
The red goes with the fleck of red on the curtains and in the carpet and looks great on the wall.
Should i go for a cream colour or something else ?
Thanks

It depends on the other colors in your curtains. You will have to go for a very neutral colour on the other walls as it woudl be very overpowering otherwise..

I think gold goes beautifully with a rich red regarding accessories and subtle tones but for painting the other walls, I would tone it down and do it in a white cream, gardenia for example and also, don't mind the colours on the website screen, they come up a lot lighter when you paint them on your walls.

I have a similar colour to the Shamira on one of my bedroom walls and went with a (self-mixed) muted pink-ish - similar to that one recommended on the Dulux website. It looks ok, but I do regret doing it now (like, 5 years later, so it doesn't bug me that much obviously!) and want to change it. I'm a big fan of Old English White (think it's Crown) to go with just about anything but, as others have said, it depends on the colour of your curtains and furniture. That Eucalyptus on the Dulux site looks nice, but would only suit if you have the right colours of furniture etc.

Have you considered soft pale greens?

Could make a nice counter point.
Repeat the red subtly all around the room, e.g. red candle, photo with red in it etc.
I second the gold. Fed up with silver!

Magnolia by another name, so buy magnolia and dont pay the extra for same thing renamed.

I would also have a look at Farrow and Ball colours as they do a really nice range of off-whites/neutrals, choose what you like and get it mixed by dulux or similar
