My husband has moved to Dublin with work.
We currently live in Waterford and have a small mortgage.
We are in the position to buy another house for 100k cash.
My question is would we benefit more from keeping the 100k for a deposit on a mortgage in Dublin. If we can get a mortgage.
Or buying a house for cash and renting it out in Waterford to offset our rent in Dublin? potential rental 7,500 family -9,000 student yearly rental yield.
We would then have two houses rented in Waterford the 2nd property rent would cover the mortgage.
or
We could keep our family living in Waterford mortgage free but my husband would still have to rent in Dublin and be away from us. Our children haven't started school yet.
Any advice please.
