One advantage is that we will see the end of Ivor Callelly. Surely thats a goodnews story.
 
When the Dail ends the current Senate and the whole re election circus starts again except for the lucky few selected by the incoming Taoiseach. I thought that was common knowledge

Indeed you are right but the general electorate will have no say in Seanad elections.

I do agree that seeing the back of Ivor is much to be desired but in the scale of things his demise is low in terms of what I hope to see achieved by an election.
