Accountant's fee. Can I claim back VAT and show the item as an expense?

I have paid my Accountant for preparing my Limited Company accounts for the year 2017. The total fee was €1,845. The VAT on this was €345. Can I put the €345 through VAT3 as VAT on Purchases AND deduct the €1,845 as a business expenses at year end? Is this not double benefitting?

No, accounts work on a vat exclusive basis assuming you are vat registered and able to reclaim the vat. Expense is €1,500 and vat reclaim is €345
