Hi,

have studied my ass off for the best part of this year while also working, I have just received my accountancy results.

I passed the three difficult exams with excellent marks and failed the easy one by 2% which will prevent me from going on to the next level.

Now fair enough, a fail is a fail but CIMA (the accountancy body) will not even entertain a recheck. How can they say that every exam corrected is perfect in everyway?

Do i have any rights in this area or should I even bother and just accept my fate? Im thinking about the ombudsman or some european body? Any ideas, suggestion appreciated.
Thanks,
Sull

I think that each professional body such as CIMA can more or less make up whatever exam regulations they like. I think grin and bear (and don't let it get you down)

Re: Accountancy results

Its also possible there already was a recheck as some professional bodies automatically recheck anyone who is within I think about 5% below a pass mark, however if they did not mention this when you asked about a recheck perhaps not.

There isn't much you can do about it. Its really annoying when you get so close, worse than failing by 10% or more IMO.

Can you hold onto the 3 you passed and just repeat the fourth one?
