Hi,
My niece recently done a degree in collage but in her final year she became pregnant, she spend alot of time in hospital due to complications and the 3 weeks prior to her exams, she had the child the same week her exams began and she got out of hospital 2 days before she had to sit her first exam.

She done all her exams even though she felt unprepared but she passed and got a 2.2 Hons Degree. In light of what she went through I personally feel she done great.

She took a year out and now she is currently doing a MA in Accountancy but she is finding it extremely difficult to find an accountancy firm to accept her onto their Graduate Training Programme when she has her MA completed as they all have an entry requirement of a Min 2.1 .

I was of the opinion that some firm would accept her in light of the exception circumstances in which resulted in her receiving a 2.2 which is still a pass and a good score.

Is there any advice for her or does anyone know of a firm likely to accept her?

Most of big ones will only accept a 2.1. Was she on track for a 2.1 before her final exams? If her previous exam results were excellent, they might be willing to consider her. The biggest problem will be for her to get the opportunity to explain.

I presume she attended all the graduate fairs and talked to the different firms.
