Accomodation in St Martin

Has anybody been to St Martin in the carribean? We're heading there in November for a wedding and are looking for accomodation on the french side. It's very hard to find anyone who's been there and has a recommendation!

I stayed at the Mercure Simpson Bay Hotel a number of years ago. Its a nice 4 star reasonably priced and good location. There are better hotels on the island but this one is good value and on a beach which most of them are not. Be sure to check out Maho beach near the airport while you're there. There is a great bar next to it where you can watch the planes land 50ft away. Stand behind a 747 as it takes off and it will blow you back into the sea!
