Accommodation near Bilbao/Santander

Hi there, I hope to visit the guggenheim as part of our hols this year, and would like to stay by the coast, so Santander seems to be the place, but no matter how I try I can't find self catering accommodation anywhere.

Can anyone help or advise? I've tried the bilbao.net site, (which I found useless) amoung heaps of others.

Stayed in Bilbao last summer in the Barcelo Avenida Hotel. across from the museum on the waterfront, and it was so good that I stayed there again a week later on my way back from San Sebastian. It cost around 50 euro per room ( for 2 ) and had the most amazing breakfast choices ( hot and cold - not junk food) ive even had in all my travels for around 8 euro a head! Its newly renovated as well.
Re the Museum, the only worthwhile feature of this is the building itself, not its contents and found that a couple of hours at most was all it merited.
If staying in Bilbao , go down to the old town area for food and drinks. very quaint and relaxing. Enjoy
