Accom in London or surroundings

Looking for approx 7 night accom in around London with nearby location to rail/tube for access to London city for day trips.

For a family of 5 so dont want to fork out for 2 hotel rooms so is there any place online that does short term accomodation that anyone knows of?

Sent my parents to http://www.cromptoncourt.co.uk/ recently (for a funeral). Its around the area we use to live before returning to ireland etc so wasnt picked in terms of a base for sightseeing but the online reviews (tripadvisor) gets good remarks for those that were sightseeing (ie clean, near tube) etc.
