accidential damage claim

I just got my accidential damage claim approved. i now know that i can get the damage repaired significantly cheaper if i get it done with another garage. am i bound to get the repairs done with the garage that estimated the damage or can i go elsewhere?

Im Pretty sure you can go wherever suits you but you will have to check it with your insurance to be sure to be sure

I think you can go where you like. In fact, as far as I am aware you do not have to have the repairs done at all.

If you have a protected NCB you may have to get the work done in a garage approved by your insurers.

Also in my expierence the insurers pay the garage directly for the repairs minus your policy excess and you pay the excess on your policy direct to the garage to make up the difference.
