Accept New Role In Different Line of Business?

Fund admin company we are impleting new systems that will make company muh more efficient and cut number of people needed to work on accounts. People are being moved from group to group within the fund accounting departments, as accounts switch to new system, which is understandable, rumor has it that when they all switched fund accountants (hired on a fund accountant contract) will be moved to transfer agency department - totally different job description. If this happens do we have to move or can we ask for redundancy? My job title on my contract sayd fund accountant not transfer agent.

It will depend on whether the terms and conditions are materially different, and whether in the circumstances it is reasonable to expect someone to transfer to the new position. If it is reasonable, then you won't be eligible for redundancy.
