About to lose job

I am about to lose my job in the public sector - after 1 year and a week!!! I started in Oct 08. My contract expires in Nov and I was told it will not be renewed. Before that I was a stay at home Mum for 14 years. I worked for about 10 years in various jobs prior to this. Am I correct in saying I am not entitled to any benefits. Any advice would be gratefully received - as I am totally confused about credits etc.
 
If I was you I would be getting out early and queueing at the SW office tomorrow morning to get a definitive answer rather than throwing it out on ASM. At least you know where you definitely stand then.

Based on what you've provided above it would be difficult to give an accurate response.
 
With only 51 contributions , you are highly unlikely to qualify for Jobseekers benefit .

You can claim tax refund for 4 weeks ( Dec 09 ) based on your tax credits

You may be means tested for Jobseekers Allowance .

If your gross pay for year 2009 is less than 26,000 , you may be entitled to a prsi refund
