Hi all,i was recently let go after only a week in the job,i am a carpenter.I had already given the Subcontractor my P45 from my last employer.Anyway it now seems there will be wages paid to me nor will i receive a new P45 from this Cowboy.Anyway my question is about obtaining a new P45 , do i have to go to the tax office and explain my case and they will issue me a new one for my next employer? Any help appreciated? Chippy
If your employer doesn't pay outstanding wages then get onto NERA ([broken link removed]). If they don't give you a P45 then get onto Revenue and/or SW.
If you take up new employment contact reveue, they can issue a certificate of tax credits to your new employer and include details of previous pay and tax (one before cowboy!), if you are making a claim for monies outstanding make Revenue aware of this and they will issue cert on week one basis
If not find your new job and contact the Collector General with your new employers PAYE number. Get them to issue a new tax credit cert. as per the original P45.
People do the above all the time when they don't want their new employer to know how much they were earning in their previous employment.

Contact your local Revenue office not Collector General. Collector General deals with payments of tax outstanding not the issuing of tax credit certificates. You can find out where to phone by using Contact Locator on www.revenue.ie

Incorrect. Your local tax office does not deal with PAYE queries and does not issue tax credit certs. There is a special PAYE division in Rosslare that deals with such queries. There is also a section in the Collector Generals office that deal with such queries.
If you dial the relevant 1890 number based on wher you live, this is deemed to be your local tax office and they will issue certificate of tax credits. Office in Rosslare is postal address for several Revenue Districts. Collector General's office do not issue P45's to employees, they issue blank P45's to employers on request.
