A new baby and a holiday

We have a 2 month old baby and wish to go away on holidays this October which means we will be bringing along a 6-7 month old baby.

What we are looking for is a relatively short plane ride ( say 3 hours limit ) and a place that won't be too hot for a baby without it being too cold for ourselves to have bothered going on hols

What are the usual resorts like in October in relation to temp or does anyone have some suggestions for us.

Just back from Sicily (c. 3.5 hour flight) for a week with our 8 month old and it all worked out fine. We normally go there later in the year (September/October) when the weather is similar to May - both of which avoid the extremes of the peak summer months. Don't be daunted by the prospect of travelling with baby for the first time at that age. With a little planning I'm sure it'll be fine. One new thing that we did this time around was to stay in a hotel near the airport the night before to avoid the hassle of dawn (or earlier!) trek out on the day. You can get rooms rates in many of the hotels for about €80. Well worth it and a bit of a novelty way to start the holiday before even leaving the country.

Make the most of the first two years when they are generally free!
