A house was fraudulently sold by people who did not own it...

Interesting story, was looking at the myhome listing a few weeks back wondering how a house in such a good location was left in such a state for so long.

I’m as to how a “purchaser’s” solicitor facilitated the purchase of a house from a legal entity with no claim to it. Especially as the house had a mortgage on it.

Article suggests evidence of fraud but that seemed to be on the “vendor’s” side.

There's a property right next to mine (not this price bracket!) empty for years, went sale agreed a year ago, but is in legal limbo as it's owned by a bank where no one will make a decision (we need access and have decided there is no point writing to an 'institution' with minions who will never have a decision made or if it's made it will be no).

Another one on the same street was empty for nearly 20 years, finally got renovated, because the city corporation woke up on it and was going to charge them.

1.635million for a totally unfinished house that is a protected structure and may need alterations reversed. Someone got carried away at auction.
Doesn't that depend on how much the renovations will cost and it's resale value. The location is tops and it's pretty sizeable in a great location.

I see they stripped not only the fireplaces but the sockets too, interestingly they left the fine doors. Though they wouldn't fit many places.
