Would really love to get wooden 50m blinds for the living room but as my window is about 8 foot wide [broken link removed] having trouble finding anywhere that does them wide enough at a reasonable price. Can anyone recommend somewhere I have tried a few places but no one seems to make them that wide and most of them are trying to push fitting two 4 foot blinds side by side? which I think would look awful! please can anybody help? thanks in advance
I don't think its possible. I believe the issue is really that the weight of the blind would lead to a buckled effect. I have a similar sized window which I was hoping to get wooden blinds for, its also quite deep so an added problem, the fitters suggested that I either have a smaller blind to one side which may have been hidden from view from outside as there were smaller panes on that side of the window or 'wooden effect' aluminium ones as they are lighter. Needless to say I don't have blinds as yet lol!!
We have a a 3 panelled window, the centre one doesn't open and we bought 3 seperate blinds so we can lift the blinds to open the two side windows , the break in the blinds is covered from the outside by the frame of the window so from outside it looks like one blind, the span on my window is about 9 foot.
Thanks Havealaugh, but my window has only one small opening at the side and a panel going across the window rather than down so adding more than on blind wouldnt look appealing for this window, even do my sister added to blinds on her window which looks great but like yourself she had some form of panel th hide the join from the outside but for me this wouldnt be a option! thanks anyway
Call Maureen in www.b4i.ie and she should be able to help you out/give you options. I've bought loads from them and found Maureen very helpful in the past.
thanks Dinjoecurry, the sitting room is very small so the shutters might be a bit over powering ?? anyway dont they cost a small fortune? thanks again will keep it in mind
