65k to put on Deposit for 6-12months

From my redundancy I am looking to put it away on Deposit for 6 or 12 months.

Where would you guys think gives the most interest?

Just one thing, I have heard that An Post (Postbank?) are the better option to put deposits into for 6months to 1year because of something about not paying DIRT at th maturity of the account?

Am I getting my wires completely crossed here or does that ring a Bell with anyone?

Thanks, are An Post deposit accounts covered by the Govt (up to 100k like some banks) and do they have anything that rivals that % figures you gave me above?
