Guys,

Building my own home and am here filling out a mortgage application form.. As well as the usual info, the broker, on the checklist, has asked for a "6 point letterhead from an architect" ?

Can anyone tell me what this is exactly and does it have to be from an architect or could a consulting engineer (as this is who I've been told I need to oversee see the development/stage payments etc) provide it ?

Cheers

It's a standard letter, completed by the supervising architect or engineer, confirming that they will supervise the pouring of the foundation, etc etc. There are six points the architect has to confirm hence the name! He/she will also need to provide a copy of his/her professional indemnity insurance. Your lender will have a standard template you can give to the architect.
