6 months in paradise...

If you had €20k for 2 people, and 6-8 months to go and "Live the dream", where would you go to find "Paradise"
If you took into account travel, cost of living, rent, food, etc.
A beach in thailand? Southern India? Where in the world?

Anyone done it? Any experiences?
The main criterias would be;
Safety,
Sun, sand, etc,
Not full of hairy stoned backpackers / lager louts,
Friendly people, good food, Cheap ... you know the kind of thing.

Or is this simply not do-able on this budget?
