5 days and then 3 day working weeks

hi

myemployer had asked me to work reduced hours due to the downturn, effectively 3 days one week and 5 days the following week every fortnight, their understanding being that as a continuous 4 day working week does not qualify for benefits

would this arrangement qualify as on average it is effectively 4 days a week, I havent went down to enquire myself yet as I would be slightly dubious of it, has anyone else this arrnagement?

Best to check it out with your local office as there may be other factors that affect your claim (loss of earnings levels, etc.) and it's a serious change in work practice for you. Impossible for anyone here to give the definite answer on it.
