46% increase in some M50 tolls

the NRA have very sneakily introduce a 46% increase in toll charges for commercial vehicles between 2ton & 3ton.

This includes many commercial jeeps, most larger transit type vans etc etc.

Old system = vans must be twin axle or above to pay higher charges (normally 3.5ton + vans)

new system is based on unladen weight, so new charge for commercial jeeps, and most transit size vans is €4.10 instead of €2.80.

ASKED FOR EXPLANATION - THEY HAD NONE!

Ive been driving a transit van through m50 toll bridge for last 3 years,
its been 3.40e since jan 08. Have you a link to any new tolls?

3.40 includes VAT - now that it is government owned, no VAT is charged, so new rate for small goods vehicles is €2.80.

Depending on size of your transit - if its over 2 ton unladen weight the new rate will be €4.10 @0% vat (same as previous €4.90 twin axlen rate)
