Have 35,000 to invest long term (return in 20 years time). Which would be better option; property, pension or national solidarity bond?

Nothing can beat diversified stock portfolio, but it would be impossible to do if you limit your investments to Ireland.

Depending on your appetite for risk, the Solidarity Bond is a no hasstle investment. 50% over 10 years. You can invest into funds but that simply goes down the pan as most normal funds take approx 43% of the fund over a 10 year period. Read the post in investments......do your own research as it is your money.........beware of sales commission agents.................and good luck to you.

35k would buy a nice mix of etfs.
euro dj euro stoxx
commodities
emerging markets
s/p
agriculture
water

etc etc
via a tax deferred vehicle like a pension would be best.

Ireland?
A few prize bonds?

I am trying to find best low risk option which I know is more limited.
