3 point turn in a driving test

I have my driving testin the morning. I found out this afternoon I have to use a different car as I was having problems with the emisions (sp?) on my own car & the garage could not get them down in time to pass the nct.
I usually drive a renault clio & now have to drive a ford focus 3 door. I feel fine driving it and have spent most of the day practising in it - the only thing thats bothering me is that as the car sticks out more in the back for some reason it's taking me 5 to 7 moves to complete. I almost sure you can use 7 turns but I was wondering if somebody could confirm this??

Also if you touch the path while doing the 3 point turn is that an automatic fail??

Thanks in advance.

I...Also if you touch the path while doing the 3 point turn is that an automatic fail?...

That makes it harder than in real life.

My advice is to make sure to use the full lock of the steering really crank it around. If you don't do this it will take more "points" to make the turn.

Well done , now off the tax office with you.....

and don't forget to ring your insurance to get a little something back....
