3 Bed semi - average size?

Is 1048 sq ft around the average size of a 3 bed semi?

I am about to put a deposit on a 3 bed semi in Limerick but just wondering about the size.

Also, they say you have to pay 10% on signing the contracts. If you take this from the mortgage, do you have to start paying the full mortgage from then?
 
1048 is big for a new or newish one, I have heard of 4 beds that size (4 box rooms but Hey) and sounds about average for a 3 bed semi
 
Agree with PINK, I'd say it was a little on the small side. But does it fit your requirements? I noticed the living space seems to be shrinking in new builds, taking into account the showhouse might have smaller than average furniture!
 

1048 is not a bad size considering there are some bed houses out only measuring 750, while its not huge it is around about the average and u would be lucky to get anything much bigger form a new build
 
Its the biggest 3-bed new house close to the city. If I went about ten miles out to Murroe, they are 1200 sq ft. But seeing as its only for myself, I should have enough room.
