I am changing jobs in the new year so losing a company van and need to buy a 2nd car

Once things go back to normal
I am going from tallaght to Finglas office each day normal work week.

So I have fuel plus m50 each day savings to be made on both with EV
I have a driveway so an option to install home charging.
There is a notion of work putting in some on site charging so that could help too.

We have a Diesel CX5 so I am thinking a EV makes most sense as the second car.
1 baby so need to consider that too, even the Mazda feels small at the moment with the baby.

I am thinking something around 2018 2019, can't bring myself to spend 40k on a new car
Would like to stay in the early 20's money wise so the pricey stuff is out.
I am over 6 foot so little cars are out.

Options
E Golf looks like early 20k mark the fact that are now gone due to the ID3 should help this too.
Not sure about the look of the new Leaf, lots around so interested to hear and real world info
Not ready to drive a Kia Soul too different for my liking.
I think the Corsa and 208 are too small. but open to persuasion

It looks like there are a lot of options coming in the next year or 2.

I appreciate installing a home charger will cost me a few bob, with my daily commute I could probably get away with a standard 3 pin and charging over night.

Any EV owners out there please let me know what I have missed.

Home charger will cost 300 net of the grant it’s well worth it I wouldn’t recommend charging from 3 pin long term
