20k to Invest

I have 20k to invest over a term of 5 years. I am a complete novice at this, but by my reading of the links/threads here, it looks like An Post would be my best bet.

I really know nothing about this, and I'm wondering if I'm missing something huge?!

Any opinions or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Do you need access to the money during the 5 years?

How much risk (if any) are you prepared to take?

Is the 5-year term negotiable?

Thanks for the reply.

1. Don't need access.
2. As little risk as possible.
3. Term is negotiable.

Minimum 20k

Irish Nationwide - share account.

Possible windfall a few years down the road and getting a decent enough return.

See other thread on here on the moment.

Sorry that thread relates to regular saver - which I d'ont believe is a share account.

The Flexisaver is the account I think.

Many thanks for that guys. I'll have a good look at it now. Its the Flexisaver account, right?

Yes - the Flexisaver - I believe is the best account to open. 21 days notice of withdrawals.

Good luck.
