Ok, my car was stolen and having received the payout I'm looking to buy within a budget. Problem is there are very few cars within that budget and having done the rounds of a few dealers no one seems open to much negotiation.
I have seen a car that looks ok ish and this close to christmas I need to get something sorted out, problem is it's a petrol engine and it's a 2.0 ltr.
Would this cost me a massive amount to run?
Anyone any general tips for car buying?

Thanks

The higher the engine capacity in litres - the more expensive in fuel to run

I borrowed a 2.0 petrol car. It was 200 hp or 225 or something mad like that. It was like a rocket. I actually reckoned I could see the needle moving downwards on dashboard. Even though it was a serious driver car, I gave it back early as the fuel consumption was scary.
My sister also had a 2.0 petrol jeep. Even though barely used it, she was always filling it. Also lost a lot of money on it as it no one wanted it shen she wanted rid. I always drive a 2.0 ltr diesel cars but would never take a petrol.

Yes it depends on the engine capacity. If the engine is bigger it will consume more petrol..
