1992 toyota cynos and recently some mornings it turns over for ages before it starts

hi,i have a 1992 toyota cynos and recently some mornings it turns over for ages before it starts.the other morning it failed to start despite trying it for ages and i had to give up on it.the next morning it started fine~!!also at the traffic lights the other day it was just drifting out..not cutting out instantly,kind of like it was;nt getting enough petrol..i thought it might be dirty petrol but it been going on a while.some1 mentioned the problem may be electrical but i thought such an old car would'nt have electrices that would affect starting,once it was turning over?any thoughts greatly appreciated..

It may be a problem with the fuel pump / filter system, or maybe a carberetur, after that I am nut sure.
