Hi,
I bought a 19" Samsung Widescreen LCD-TV from Komplett, [broken link removed]
to be used as a TV only - does anyone else have this model in use as a TV? my problem is that the picture quality is very average & the sound jumps in tone/pitch during programs which is very annoying - I'm wondering if the fact this can be used a PC monitor as well reduces its TV reception quality?
I'd expect an LCD to be as good in performance as a CRT TV but thats not the case with this.

Thanks

Dacman, I think that is the model my brother got for Xmas. We bought it in Argos. It seems ok but I no nothing about LCD's. It is still on special I think at €379. You could buy one from Argos, open it carefully, check the reception and return it under their 16 Day money back guarantee!

If the one you bought is dodgy you could always keep the Argos one and get a refund from Komplett.

What sort of TV reception do you get? Cable. satellite or aerial? Have you checked the connections?

Thanks for reply's,
Ariel connection to pick up the 4 terristrial channels, I've used 2 different aerial points & the LCD compare's poorly with the CRT- same cable, it's my first LCD I wouldn't mind if I had to get an extra signal booster to improve quality but I don't think that thats the problem - will revert to Komplett.

I have one of them as well. It's fine as a PC monitor but it didn't pick up a TV signal when I did a quick test with the 'rabbit's ears'. I'll try it on the cable in next day or two and let you know.

AFAIK, LCD/Plasmas maginify 'poor' pictures, e.g. those from an aerial-this could be the issue.

Thanks Again,
I'll connect to the satellite & see if that improves the quality, my RTE ect is recieved by rabbit's ear aerial in the attic along with a signal booster - its perfectly fine for the current CRT TV's, may be that I need to invest in a proper outside aerial.

I've just connected to the Digital Satellite & the LCD is working perfectly - much clearer, so the problem is with my terristrial aerial - CCOVICH you were right - pat127 - no need to connect - thanks for offering.
