10k lump sum - Pension?

Hi All,

I have 10,000 euros to hand that I would like to start a pension with. What is the best way I could this?

You'd probably need to post more detailed info about your overall personal and financial circumstances. You could find a suitable pension with low charges and lash the €10K in in one go for example. Depending on your income and pension contributions in 2007 you could get tax and PRSI relief on some or all of this. Alternatively you could set some of it against 2008 income when claiming tax/PRSI relief. Have you read the many threads on "competitive" pension options (e.g. including the key posts and the "cheapest PRSA" thread in the Financial Best Buys forum? And the pension booklets on www.pensionsboard.ie and www.itsyourmoney.ie ?
