Summons??

Hi all

My girlfriend received a summons in the post a few months ago for a case date on 2*(a typo it was ) 29th Jan.The accusation was apparently parking in a bus lane.

She had received a fine in the mail prior to this and we misplaced it and never done anything about it.

Is it possible to call the summons office or request that you would like to make the payment or is it now mandatory to attend a court sitting due receiving the summons?

If I was her, I'd get the suit out pronto & get herself down to the court ASAP.

Why did she leave it to the DAY to find out if she could just pay the fine??
 
Perhaps "2*" is a typo (inadvertently shifted '8' = '*') in the original post and should actually read "28"?

she didn't it was a typo. I am not that stupid to be asking for advice on THE day.
 
Payment can only be made within 56 days of the date on the actual notice. Once past that payment cannot be made at all and once the summons issues the judge will decide the rest.

Considering there was only one question it was a case of read and answer...
