HI, Just looking for advice from people who know alot more about cars then me !! There is company car that might becoming available in the next couple of months here in work. I think I will be able to get it at a very good price. It is a 2005 Saab 9.3 1.9tid (diesel), it has 134k on the clock. I know the owner and the history of the car which would have been well looked after and serviced reguralary.
If I got a very good price with that high mileage would it be worth it, my current car is 10 yr old A4 which I like but need to change soon.

I am currently looking at bringing in a Saab from the UK. I am looking at the 9-3 1.9TiD, many are available with much less mileage than yours for under stg10k, VRT approx €7k. Better value in UK IMO.

You would need to get that car for a lot less than €20k.

I would be getting it for alot less then €20k as would hopefully get a good deal through work- would the car be worth it- I would be using it as the family car.

I would find out what has been replaced on it so far, arms, rollbars, stc. The engines are up to the mileage and said saab would have no trouble getting 250-300k, but its the expensive parts that could hurt

Will do so would a Saab be more expensive to fix my old A4?

I think it's a very personal choice. I am drawn to these cars. A friend has a company one and is very please although some can be prone to problems with electrics! Very high safety and specification. However, I would not buy any car with 134k on the clock although if a problem has not surfaced by now, it's probably a good'un.

Good luck with it.

About a month ago I brought in a 2005 Saab 1.9 TDI Sport, 76k miles from the UK.
I completed this through a 3rd party who delivered it to my door, total cost was 16,500 euros which included the VRT which was 5136 euros.

I could not find many cars on motornet.ie with this spec for <20k so I think this was a good price and incredibly convenient. Obviously there are risks buying privately so no guarantee that the next time I do this that all will work out so well.

I checked - it has had no problems and running well. It would have been used to go around the country a bit and not so much city driving if that makes any difference. There is an 05 vectra as well but I am not keen on Vectras.

Not so much nowadays. City driving is preferable but sore on clutch. Country driving could mean a lot of motorway driving or maybe farm roads, sore on suspensions. You will know better by the nature of the business.

it's not often you get to buy a car cheap that you know the history of. Good luck.

Saabs are I have found pretty much bulletproof, have a 2005 arc 1.9,and will buy Saab again,Great for long journeys,Milage is kms and is a diesel so not really an issue, you know its full history and the price is right,go for it,If it has a full leather interior you will never go back to clothseats.

12 months ago I bought a 2002 Saab 9-3 in UK with 6000 certified miles. Total cost to me including collection and VRT was €14000.Virtually a new car. If I wanted another Saab ( I currently have 2) I would go to UK
