No Car tax in UK

I'm thinking about bringing over a car from the UK, it has a valid MOT, but the car tax is out since last December.
I plan on flying over & bringing it back on the ferry, but I'm wondering does anyone know how I can drive it from London to the ferry without the risk of getting in trouble (or getting it confiscated) if the police notice it.
From what I know the UK police can make you hop out of an untaxed car & leave you stranded....

Explain your dilemma to the seller and have them get it taxed, or pay one of the car transport outfits bring it back (about 400 euro + VAT).

UK police cars have number plate readers, and there's a good chance you'd get pulled.

Get it taxed.

Forgot to say that unlike here, in the UK once the vehicle changes owners the original owner can claim the unused portion of the car tax back once you post back the old tax disc.

Yeah I've seen one of the English Cops shows pulling over a car because of the number plate reader, not something I want to repeat.

Does anyone have the names of the car transport outfits (one recommened if possible)?

I got the car bough back by Robert Stundon 086-3675477.
Great service absolutely spot on, I can highly recommend.

I've no affiliation.
