hey this might be a stupi question , placed order on new vw golf tsi and they said 8-10 weeks now that was 3 weeks ago

is there any site u can go to , to see if ur car will be on time or earlier/later etc

other than ringing the garage
 
If you are after spending €20k+ i would not be to worried about annoying them....
 
They said 8-10 weeks. Presumably they're reasonably sure it would take that amount of time when they said it. Why would you need to find out any more after only 3 weeks? About 6 weeks in I'd ring them & ask is it still on schedule. ( nice car by the way, what colour? saw a white one the other day, looked very impressive )

My old man bought a Passat and was told 8 - 10 weeks and it took 12 weeks! I was told my 140hp TSI golf would take 12 weeks and it came in 12 weeks. My brother has a GTI which also took 12 weeks and my best mate has a 1.6 golf which also took 12 weeks so i wouldn't bank on it being here in 8 - 10 weeks.

As graham said you only ordered it three weeks ago - the garage wont even have a clue at this stage when production week is so you will have to sit it out for a while.
 
Ask the garage to keep you updated.
I got a factory built car in 06 and they were pretty good on letting me know the status, where it was in the production line, when it left the factory, when it arrived in the country....

If they could only give you a DHL tracking number or something :p

For anyone that had recently bought a VW and was told aftering ordering it when "production week" would be, did this information turn out to be accurate and how long after this did it take for you to receive the car?
 
Ordered the 122bhp version end of Jan and was told it would be approx 10-12 weeks. Dealer phoned last week to say it would be ready next week. Organised the cheque this morning and rang the dealer only to be told that it would be the end of May. No explanation for the delay. Needless to say pretty peeved given that I will be paying an extra months interest on the loan. I did call into them a few weeks ago and was told that it was due for production during week 19 with delivery approx 2 weeks later which would be around the end of May.
 
Booked a Golf earlier this year and was told 8-10 weeks, 15 weeks later I was getting very angry and was told it would be another 2 weeks, car arrived 2 weeks later with 2 doors missing....well not missing really, it was a 3 door instead of 5, I was told it would be another 6 weeks to get what I ordered!!! needless to say I told them to park it where the sun don't shine.
 
I ordered a 140hp tsi in november and was told it would take 12 weeks - it came at the end of jan after only 9 weeks
