My friend is looking at these but they are flying out pretty quick. At €309,000 for a one bed (admittedly a very large 1 bed) i think there has got to be better value out there!

Went to see the showhouse yesterday- a lovely apartment but so close to the shopping centre that i can imagine that the carpark could be used for overflow parking during the xmas season.

Anybody know anything bout the area? The hilton is in walking distance and i heard that they are going to build some bars around. is it a new and upcoming area?

Saw the apts yesterday too.. The 1 beds are huge! Thought they were only 259,000euro? Could be wrong but I thought I saw it advertised somewhere..Location is good for getting into town. It has the QBC along the Malahide Rd. The neighbouring estates look a little rough though..

They are being built by Albany Homes, I live in a development by them just behind these new ones, the "property mgmt co" they used are absolutely terrible (not sure if I can name it) but its run by 2 of the directors of Albany.

As its directly across the road from Darndale they may want to make sure its completely gated off.

On the plus side its right by Tesco, Dunnes just a couple of mins drive away, cinema just down the road, bus lane on the malehide road (though the junction by the Goblet and Donneycarney church are bottleknecks) and Howth Junction is less than 5 mins drive away.

Your right they started at that but the rose to €309k by the time we got there! they are really lovely and i'm sure if you weren't overlooking the carpark then they'd be perfect but for that price they would want to be!

Looks like you are getting confused between 1 and 2 bed apartments.

1 Bed : €259,000
2 Bed : €309,000

all the one beds are sold out. The ones that are left are between €340,000 to €370,000. think they are the 2 bed

Hi, Had a look at these apartments also on Saturday, have to say, very impressed with size, layout etc. However on speaking to a friend, they advised that you check the actual size of the apartment, aparently the show apartment is actually bigger than the actual size mentioned. Not sure how true this is. My brother was told on Sunday they had two x two beds left at 375,000 but was advised to call Monday as they reckoned there would be cancellations.

Viewed the show apartments today and was impressed with the size. But as you say, this could be different for the actual apartments. The show apartments are built in a totally separate unit to the apartments that are available to buy. After having a good look at the plans the layouts between the show apartments and the actual apartments for sale, the layouts do appear to be different but the larger two beds are along the same dimensions as the show units. Check the actual size with sales office and double check before committing. A few two beds left but all one beds gone - for the moment.

24 hour shopping, gym, QBC etc are a nice touch but the edge of the development could be quite close to a halting site which by the looks of it is a permanent fixture (i.e. small houses instead of caravans). Darndale is also quite close but separated by the malahide road and Shell/Opel/Quickfit - noticed Crossen Opel garage is moving to Airside so would be interested to know what future plans are for the site. As mentioned the development appears self contained and separated from the lower element but that remains to seen.

Just worried these factors might effect prices in the future. Myself, I can see the advantages out weighing the disadvantages and the size of the apartments is generous compared to others I have seen but there are always those doubts in the back out your mind.

What are others views?

I also went to see these and i was told by the agent that the show apartments are larger than any of the ones actually on sale so definately check that out.

yep I agree with previous posters Show Apartments tend to be the optimum size rather than the actual size of most apartments
for a 2 bed as a rule of thumb ur looking for something > 70 square meters to be a good size
