Greatest opening lines to a song

Is it a sin to say that I prefer the cover by Disturbed?
Is it a sin to say that I never heard of Disturbed never mind their (admittedly very good) cover of the song? ;) In all fairness though if you put an orchestra as backing on any song it's going to sound pretty damn good!

The BeeGees, a family beset by tragedy.

"Barry Gibb and his brothers wrote hits for many others.

They include 'Grease' by Frankie Valli from the movie of the same name, 'Woman in Love' by Barbra Streisand, 'Emotion' by Samantha Sang, 'If I Can't Have You' by Yvonne Elliman, 'Heartbreaker' by Dionne Warwick and 'Islands in the Stream' by Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton."

They also wrote Chain Reaction for Diana Ross. They were also very technically innovative as recording artists.

On a morning from a Bogart movie
In a country where they turn back time
You go strolling through the crowd like Peter Lorre
contemplating a crime.
She comes out of the sun in a silk dress running
Like a watercolor in the rain.
Don't bother asking for explanations
She' ll just tell you that she came
In the year of the cat.

The year of the cat ....by Al Stewart
Brilliant song..

"T'was in the year of 39
When the sky was full of lead
When Hitler was heading for Poland
And Paddy for Holyhead"
