Key Post Investment in Irish Forestry Funds

I have also tried to have cheques reissued because i was out of the country when they were issued to me and it has taken me months to get in contact with the Liquidator who now wants to charge me what seems like extortionate fees to reissue my cheques.
Yes, He is charging €200 per cheque,
We have a number of Investors in the same boat,

Hi All
Both my kids were bought shares in this by their grandmother. The cheque was sent but was not cashed in time. I have been onto Irish forestry and asked for reissue. Told to contact liquidator. Eventually got passed to a guy called Paul Brosnan who told me that the address on the website was the only way to contact Alan FitzPatrick. Him and mchugh were the named ex directors of the fund when I looked deeper. Over 4 months ago now. Still no response from liquidator despite registered letter which was returned and then a standard letter. Just read the thread and it seems like a complete heist overall. €200 for a cheque reissue? Why would this be? Any advice welcome. Thanks.

Hi Seaniem,
I'm in the same position and I'm not sure what to do either. I wonder if we will ever get our money!
Were the two letters returned unopened?

Hi buddahman
The registered one was returned but I have had no answer from the standard post one in over 4 months. I sent an email to the ODCE to see what they could do as they

supposedly the regulation body for liquidators ....... their response was:

“It is not clear from your email that there this is a Company Law matter. However, I will pass on the email for you and in the meantime perhaps you would be good enough to complete and return the attached Complaint Form.”
I filled this out and still nothing. Next step maybe to call to this Fitzpatrick’s guys office. Very frustrating to be honest.
Regards

Hi Seaniem,
I sent you a PM message yesterday.
After you log in, tap on the envelope beside your name on the top right hand corner of the page and it should open.

Hi all investors,
A large number of Investors have had difficulty in getting cheques re issued,
Irish Forestry Action Association Ltd is currently in High Court proceedings against the Liquidator & Co.,

Hi Lar

Is the case purely in relation to inefficiencies in getting cheques reissued? I would reluctantly pay the 200 (600 for 3 cheques) but the replacement cheques were of significantly lower amounts than the originals (combined over 10,000 euro of a difference).

We are assuming this is an error and have written back to the Liquidator for clarification but this thread has me a little more concerned now.

thanks

No... the case is in relation to the liquidation of the forestry investment funds years before maturity at a pittance which was then forwarded to us as cheques and whether that liquidation was illegal without consultation with fund holders....

l think that's the core of the situation we are in...as l understand it.....

Hi All
Has there been any developments on this? This liquidator and indeed the company seems to have executed a heist here ...z

Can you update us on the cheque reissue situation and indeed the overall progress on the high court proceedings. See that a poster has received reissued cheques well below value of original cheques .... at a cost of €200 per cheque ..... wow. I assume if you even managed to get the cheques reissued (at extortionate cost and time) and cash them that this would be tantamount to accepting as settlement the cheque or reissued cheque value?
Thanks
