Trumps Tulsa rally.

 What sort of crazy world are we living in where close to half of an election rally event are paid to attend said event. Is this (ads for attendees to be paid to attend) common in other countries - does it happen here?

USA Today rates this as false.

Snopes has it as unproven

Both sides do it. Or rather, both sides employ event organisers and those companies may often use planted or paid actors. These events are generally "made for TV" shows - so if you're organising it, you're going to be stage manage the event including what it looks like from the TV pictures - the crowd behind in particular.

Not unlike game shows in the US - the crowd is carefully managed.

@EmmDee - like this attendee perhaps?

Have you any substantive information to indicate that up to 2k people were paid to attend this or any other rally?

I'm not talking about handing out hats, or tshirts or signs; or even, a-la Lord Farquar, holding up signs for 'Applause'. I mean people who were paid hard cash to attend.

Or not unlike propaganda pieces emanating from NK, China, Russia, Venezuela, or any number of 'bad guy' countries. In the US, they call it part of the democratic process. They can call it that because they have two political parties, albeit both controlled and paid for by corporate America.
