I recently subscribed to netflix and am really enjoying it. I had looked into the possibility of connecting my iphone to my tv and I figured out I needed an av digital hdmi adaptor which I bought off eBay. When it arrived I managed to get my phone screen up on my tv, along with YouTube, 3 player etc, but when I connect to netflix it doesn't work! Following a lot of googling it appears that a recent netflix update prevented this way of connecting to a tv. So does anyone have any idea how to connect my iphone without having to shell out €100 for Apple TV?

Hi,
I bought an apple hdmi adaptor from Harvey Normans recently and netflix works perfectly with it from iPod, iPhone and ipad! I think it was around 40 euro.

Oh monstie that sounds like what I could be looking for. What exactly does it look like? Does it connect the iPod/phone directly to the tv?

Hi,

It connects directly to the USB cable. It is about 6 inches long with the usual male connection which goes into your phone and the the other end into USB and off you go. Telly has to be hd and not just hd ready.

If you can get your hands on a Google Chromecast - you can plug this into the back of your tv - and you use your phone to send instructions on what to watch on your TV. (through a limited number of apps - but YouTube and NetFlix are currently available). The chromecast streams the content directly from your wifi - your phone is only the remote to tell it what to stream.

The Chrome cast is wireless - so you dont need to have your phone hooked up to your TV in any way

I bought one last month and have used it a lot since. The media player I used to use on my phone and tablet is not compatible, but I quickly found an alternative that is. Best €40 I have spent in a while.
