Post codes is this real?

I have always found it a bind when trying to order something from abroad and when asked for Post Code to have to admit "" er we dont have any"

This article suggests the wait may be over but I have heard it so many times.

It's long overdue - they could be used to assist emergency service call outs - there were a couple of recent incidents where ambulances went to the wrong locations, even the wrong county, as they weren't sure where the addresses were.

Or the emergency services could use an app like the [broken link removed] does - they text you a link, you respond and they get your location pinpointed on a map.

The country badly needs post codes and we will get months of entertainment out of the windbags complaining. Its a win-win situation.
