Speaking about the Christmas schedule, Glen Killane, Managing Director, RTÉ Television said: "I'm proud to unveil such a strong and varied Christmas schedule full of quality home-produced programming in such challenging economic times."

..

Now That's What You Called News is a revealing Top 20 countdown of some of the biggest, most interesting, colourful and bizarre news stories we explored online over the past twelve months .. Presented by Craig Doyle

..

Highlights also include the return of Mrs Brown's Boys to RTÉ One for a Christmas special, in which Agnes tries to put together the perfect Christmas for her family.

Derek Mooney will present Mooney Tunes, a unique collaboration between RTÉ Radio 1's Mooney radio show, the RTÉ concert orchestra and the RTÉ radio audience, which comes to television for the first time from the Grand Canal Theatre in Dublin.

God love him (Mr. Killane). It must be hard to hear yourself describe some of the above as 'strong' and 'quality'

Wonder will all those in Kerry have to put up with a special program commemorating the Dubs football win in September? :D

I've already gotten a warning from Brendan for bad language so it's difficult for me to put into words how I feel about the schedule.

My granny will be delighted though. She loves this type of tat.

God Bless Rupert Murdoch

There'd better be a program about where it all went wrong for Ireland and about the whole bank bailout

You can never have too many of those programs!

No. 1 A Mission to Prey

I can't put into words how much I hate Brendan O'Carroll's work but thousands flock to his live shows so there is an audience for it.

Likewise Derek Mooney has 230,000 listeners on a daily basis.

Technically I'd have to agree with Glen Kilane, it is a strong schedule. I won't be tuning in though!

Oh I fully agree. Beam it out on Christmas Day just after the dinner. Or maybe have a channel solely dedicated to the bank bailout.

And then in to the livingroom to get the revolver out of the drawer and do the decent thing old chap
