I always wondered about this:

Act of God




Definition: "Circumstances which no human foresight can provide against, and of human prudance is not bound to recognise the possibility"


It reminds me of reports of a case where the judge found it difficult to decide the cause of an accident and eventually pronounced that "it was an act of God under suspicious circumstances"
