On recent holidays in the Vendee, I found a lovely 'celler' in St. Jean de Monts, the centre of town, which sells wine out of very large vats. You can buy red, white or rose for something like €0.79 per litre.... The red and rose were particularly nice.... We did'nt have any litre bottles with us so the lady filled recycled (coke and 7up) plastic bottles.
What I would like to know (as well as share this bit of good luck, if you like wine and are in the St. Jean de Monts area!) is if anyone has come across anywhere else like this, especially in the 'Le Sables d'Olonne' area. I looked last year and could not find one, but this is a very large area and maybe someone else out there in AAM land had found one.
