Anybody have any ideas as to the prices of any of these houses in Asbourne? Tried to phone the estate agent and was told the prices are still to be confirmed. Probably get enough phone calls and push the price up by another 10%.... :(

Looking at the brochures they provided, I'd estimate they would be starting at 450K upwards.

Thanks for the price list, and these houses are really nice, but outside my price range unfortunately...

In todays Irish independant

"ALTHOUGH homeowners are used to seeing double-digit increases in the value of their home, most would agree a 25pc price hike in three months takes some beating.
But that's exactly what happened to mother of two Paula Hughes, who found that a house she wanted to buy in a new development in Co Meath had shot up by €140,000 since January.
Paula and her husband Raymond decided to move from Dublin, and thought the new development at White Ash Park, Ashbourne would be ideal. The area was "less busy" than Finglas and the price was right - €580,000 for a five-bedroom home.
Too late to apply for the first phase, they were told to call agents Douglas Newman Good to make an appointment to view the second phase which go on sale this morning.
But to her horror, the houses had rocketed in price - instead of costing €575,000, the second phase would cost from €715,000 to €775,000. Despite contacting the Taoiseach's office, the selling agents and Environment Minister Dick Roche Paula says the answer was the same. "The only response I got was there's a demand (for housing) there and it would be met." "

we considered trading up to White Ash in '06. The quality and space is certainly there, and it was a very small development, but the price rise seemed extortionate at the time.
For that reason, they probably still represent value at the Phase 1 prices, but I don't expect many to come to market.
